Regimental Muster Rolls of the 8th (the King's) Regiment of Foot in the era of the Revolution

For years it has seemed as if the Regimental muster rolls of the King’s Regiment were lost, with no possibility of ever retrieving their content for both the sake of research and posterity. Through our efforts and those of our research partner in the United Kingdom, working within the National Archives at Kew, we have been able to obtain copies of the rolls that we are sharing with all of you, at no cost and as our gift to all of you who have been following us. These rolls span the early 1780s, into the period of the mid 1780s at which point the 8th departed for Britain (with 650 of the 800 men staying behind within their new homes of Upper and Lower Canada).

If you would like to have copies of the images without watermarks, as well as in a higher resolution for non-commercial and academic purposes, please reach out to us privately. Please make sure to credit the 8th (the King's) Regiment of Foot - Light Company and the Civilians of Canada Living History Association for all uses. The images are not permitted for commercial, or non-commercial use without authorization from this organization, in writing, from its President, which maintains all intellectual and moral right to the images.
