The Servos Coat

While many people are familiar with the Daniel Servos coat, an officer of the Indian Department during the American Revolution, operating out of Fort Niagara, few have had a chance to see the coat up close and in detail, owing to the distance that they may have to travel, as to do so. Serving as an immaculate example of a period coat, Servos himself operated as a member of the King's Regiment, though not before having served as a member of the British Indian Department (period terminology). This coat, as housed within the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum, is a unique and marvelous period example of both construction, and textile details. We are pleased to share our images with you, for non commercial reference purposes.
